[REC] is a 2007 horror film co-directed by Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza. The film was released in Spain in November 2007.
The movie revolves around a television reporter, Ángela Vidal, and her cameraman, Pablo, who cover the night shift in one of Barcelona's local fire stations
for the fictional documentary television series Mientras usted duerme ("As you sleep").
The firehouse receives a call from an apartment building about an old woman who is trapped in her house.
When they arrive, and two firemen and two members of the Barcelona municipal police break down the door,
events take a sudden twist for both the audience and the protagonists, as the old lady reveals herself to be extraordinarily aggressive
and unexpectedly attacks and bites one of the policemen on the neck.
