The new “LOLA” (“Law & Order: Los Angeles”) is a procedural crime drama that will follow the theme and storylines similar to the “Law & Order”-brand series on the streets of Los Angeles. The series, from executive producer Dick Wolf and Blake Masters (“Brotherhood”), is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios. Casting and pre-production work are continuing.

NBC and Dick Wolf are casting a wide net for the leads of the new Law & Order series, Law & Order: Los Angeles. I hear at least a half dozen actors have read or have been informally approached for the two detective roles, including Skeet Ulrich, James Van Der Beek, Michael Rapaport, Michael Ealy, Dylan Walsh and Dean Cain.

Accoding to a breakdown for the fall NBC series released 2 weeks ago, LOLA follows closely the template of the other Law & Order series with two detectives, fortysomething Rex Winters and thirtysomething TJ Jaruszalski, at the center, joined by a captain, a prosecutor and his assistant. The producers have been looking for a big-name actor to play the prosecutor, ADA Peter Morales, and I hear there may be interest in Lucy Liu for another role, possibly the captain. While casting on the project is still in preliminary stages, it is expected to kick into high gear soon as filming is slated to begin July 22.

Sources confirm that Skeet Ulrich has signed on to play one of the two lead detectives on Law & Order: Los Angeles.

Ulrich’s character, Rex Winters, is described as an ex-Marine who possesses the intuition of a natural cop. His experience during the Rodney King Riots — which occurred during his second month on the job — shaped his philosophy on policing. Basically, the world is chaos and people are either good or bad. As an added twist, he’s currently married to his ex-partner.

Ulrich is the first actor to sign up for LOLA duty. Five other roles — including Ulrich’s onscreen partner — are currently being cast.

NBC's latest "Law & Order" spinoff just cast veteran actor Alfred Molina ("Spider-Man 2") to join Skeet Ulrich in the drama. Molina will play a deputy district attorney in "Law & Order: Los Angeles."

EXCLUSIVE: Regina Hall is set to co-star on NBC’s upcoming Law & Order spinoff Law & Order: Los Angeles. She joins previously cast Skeet Ulrich, Alfred Molina, Terrence Howard and Corey Stoll.

Hall will play DDA Eva Price, a gorgeous, brainy bombshell with a strong sense of moral rectitude. Molina and Howard will alternate as Deputy D.A.s Ulrich and Stoll play Detective Rex Winters and TJ Jaruszalski, respectively. LOLA starts production on Monday. One of Hall’s first acting gigs was a guest spot on New York Undercover, which was co-created by Law & Order mastermind Dick Wolf. She went on to work mostly in features - most notably the Scary Movie except for a co-starring role on Ally McBeal. Hall, repped by ICM and Principato Young, was most recently seen in Death at a Funeral.

Meni nije jasno zašto se toliko grče angažirati poznata imena, kad L&O najbolje funkcionira kad se angažiraju relativno nepoznata imena. Ovako će to samo izgledati kao borba slavnih imena, a ovi manje slavni ili oni bez imalo talenta će pasti u 80. plan. Pogledajmo samo CSI NY u kojem glume Gary Sinise i co.

Iskreno, meni je to za bilo koju seriju koja se bazira na ravnopravnosti više od 5 likova bezveze.

Ja sam prije par tjedana pogledao finale SVU-a - Bože sačuvaj

To je djelovalo tako morbidno i kretenski - taman za američku razinu inteligencije... Ženska iz Rumunjske/Bugarske s tipičnim " for madr raša" naglaskom (

) koja plače za svojim mrtvim djetetom tako što uzima njegovo mrtvo tijelo iz mrtvačnice i grli ga i priča s njim... Ajd okej, nije to toliko nerealistično, ali su oni to uspjeli napraviti tako da djeluje kao nešto najmorbidnije što sam ja iakda vidio... I onda tipični hostage situation, sa Mariskinim dramatiziranjem (mislim stvarno, ko je toj bezveznjari dao Emmy

) - maj gad, zažalio sam za 40 minuta svog života što sam potratio na gledanje toga

EXCLUSIVE: Earlier this afternoon, we broke the news about the ongoing creative overhaul of NBC's Law & Order: Los Angeles that has led to the departure of two regulars, Regina Hall and Megan Boone, who play DDAs on the Law & Order spinoff. They have now been joined by Skeet Ulrich, the first actor to be cast on LOLA back in July, who will also be leaving the series as part of the the creative revamp. Ulrich plays Detective Rex Winters, one of the two cops on the Wolf Films/UMS-produced police-legal drama. I hear that Law & Order chief Dick Wolf, who has also tweaked his other Law & Order series during their first seasons, will make the changes on LOLA on the fly, without stopping production on the show that is now filming Episode 12.
